Coro is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Development Associate to work in partnership with the External Affairs Team, Chief Executive Officer, and the Board of Directors to achieve fundraising goals, steward relationships, and maintain critical information. The ideal candidate will have experience in development and data management and a deep curiosity and connection with the people, organizations, and entities that make up the civic fabric of San Francisco as a city and the Bay Area as a region.


YOUR OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPACT

Position Overview 

At Coro, we train leaders. The Development Associate is pivotal to Coro’s mission to train, support, and connect leaders to foster a thriving democracy and tackle society’s biggest challenges together. This role is responsible for development operations, including database management, gift entry, and donor acknowledgment, as well as assisting with fundraising events and communications efforts. The Development Associate reports to the Senior Director of Development and is part of the organization’s External Affairs Team.


Key Roles and Responsibilities 


Database Management

  • Manage all aspects of the Salesforce database, including gift entry, constituent information, pledge and gift acknowledgment, online giving, report generation, and other correspondence.
  • Design and generate fundraising reports, charts, and spreadsheets related to constituent management and donor segmentation
  • Work with the Program and Operations Team to ensure accuracy with data entry, and reconcile financial records.
  • Support the Senior Director of Development, managing all tracking of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship processes for major donors.


Fundraising responsibilities 

  • Support CEO in board relationships, coordinating board calendars, communications, creation of board packets, and related follow-up.
  • Coordinate event support, including but not limited to logistics, researching attendees, preparing event materials, and organizing support staff and volunteers.
  • Manage and execute annual fundraising campaigns, including Coro’s Annual Fund and end-of-year giving campaigns from conception and strategy to production and sending.
  • Contribute to and Implement strategies to engage specific target donors and alumni giving.
  • Support preparation of  grant proposals and manage grant administration and reporting


Team and Organizational Support

  • Assist with other External Affairs projects as needed
  • Actively participate in Coro staff meetings and retreats, communications, and project management, including contributing to partnership proposals, program reports, conference presentations, and other strategic and administrative projects.

Key experience for this role

  • 2-3 years of work experience with demonstrated success in fundraising and/or relationship management
  • Database experience, with Salesforce skills highly desirable
  • Reputation as an outstanding project manager, capable of understanding the big picture and having autonomy and directing their own work;
  • Previous success at multi-tasking, prioritizing, and maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing demands and priorities;


Bonus points if you’ve got a good understanding of Coro Programs or other leadership training programs.

This role will directly impact the leadership journey of hundreds, possibly thousands, across the Bay Area. This role, in particular, has an exciting opportunity to help grow and deepen the connection between funders and the organization. 


POSITION LOGISTICS

This is a full-time role. The salary range for this role is $68,000-$80,000 annually, depending on experience. Coro benefits include medical, dental, 401k match, and a very generous PTO/flexible work policy. 


This is a Bay Area-based position. While we currently work both at home and in the office, the role will require being in-person at our Downtown San Francisco location on specific days of the week and on-site as needed for program, development and event-related activities. Additionally, the Coro team gathers monthly in person at locations across the immediate Bay Area. You can learn more about our team here
