Director of Curriculum and Instruction

The Director of Curriculum and Instruction will be primarily responsible for the articulation and implementation of the Roseville Community Charter School curriculum, instructional, and assessment programs for assigned grade levels. The Director of Curriculum and Instruction will be responsible for maintaining a thriving environment of high expectations and excellence.

Director of Curriculum and Instruction – Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify, advocate and operationalize the mission, vision and strategic direction of the school
  • Monitor and sustain a school culture of academic rigor through clear expectations of students, families, faculty, and administrators
  • Implement the school’s academic standards, benchmarks, assessments, and curriculum to align with state and national standards
  • Coordinate the administration of internal and external standardized assessments
  • Evaluate academic achievement through detailed data analysis and present that information to faculty and administrators in an easily accessible format
  • Provide leadership to instructional staff in the use of data and the implementation of best instructional practices for high achievement
  • Achieve dramatic and consistent improvement in student academic performance
  • Participant in the recruitment, hiring, evaluate and evaluation of outstanding faculty members
  • Support the professional development and growth of faculty through observations of teachers on a daily basis, providing detailed written and oral feedback
  • Administer, teach and lead professional development
  • Monitor, and sustain a disciplined culture of high academic and behavioral standards
  • Manage designated school-wide routines

Director of Curriculum and Instruction - Qualifications and Certifications

  • Strong commitment to the mission and vision of Roseville Community Charter School
  • Firm belief in the ability of all students to achieve at high levels, and high expectations for low-income children to become college ready and attend selective universities.
  • New Jersey Principal certification
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years teaching in an urban school with demonstrated exemplary student results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Results-driven, with experience using data and assessments to drive instruction
  • Experience leading and managing adults
  • Strong knowledge of New Jersey Core Curriculum Content and Common Core Standards
  • Strong literacy background
  • Openness to feedback, willingness to take personal responsibility, and a desire to learn from others
  • Unwavering in pursuit of excellence even in the face of difficult opposition and challenges
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of teachers
