Position Summary: The IT Application Analyst manages various business systems, containing sensitive staff and client data, in line with Tahirih’s mission, vision, and values. Managed information systems include legal, financial, human resources, constituent relationship management, online fundraising and others as assigned. This individual works extensively with business departmental staff to fulfill data integrity requirements by managing users, data and security for these systems, through IT common processes. This position works throughout the software development and support lifecycle and is accountable for the implementation and support of various IT systems. The IT Application Analyst supports end users in various ways including project management, initial training, ongoing problem/request management, and consultative services.

Tahirih is currently on fully remote working status. We intend to return employees to work through a phased approach at an unidentified time in the future when health and safety standards permit. When we fully return to offices, this position will commute to one of our five office locations (Falls Church, VA; Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; San Bruno, CA; or Baltimore, MD).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform market research, project manage and collaborate on systems implementations.
  • Maintain data integrity of business system databases, and train relevant staff on data entry and usage.
  • Uphold IT common processes for system set-up, security/access, and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with staff across departments to ensure applications are user-friendly, staff is trained, and generated reports reflect accurate data.
  • Implement and support IT systems in a manner that ensures user adoption and streamline data entry processes.
  • Upon request, assist with data analysis, and reporting for assigned systems.
  • Work closely with business units to ensure reports, visualizations, work flows, reports and other input/outputs are efficiently maintained.
  • Conduct periodic data audits to ensure integrity of systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot application/database errors.
  • Manage IT vendor relationships effectively, seek system improvements and coordinate with them to implement changes.

Requirements

Competency working through all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and end-to-end business systems implementation and support

  • Proficient HTML skills required
  • Proficient Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Visio, others) skills required
  • One to three years of experience in application implementation/support, database administration, information technology,     database architecture, or a related field
  • Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
  • Experience with database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB)
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
  • PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills, a plus
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, required
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively about business problems and present concrete, realistic solutions

Salary and Benefits: The salary range for this role is expected to be $70,000-$80,000 per year, with actual salary commensurate with experience. Generous benefits include employee and dependent health, vision and dental insurance (Tahirih contributes pays 80% of the premium for employees and 60% for dependents); a 401(k) defined contribution retirement plan; flexible work schedules; professional development including in-house training programs, staff enrichment retreats and other growth opportunities. Employees have a generous self-managed leave benefit inclusive of vacation, sick and holidays, including office closure the week between Christmas and New Year’s.
