Founded in 1982 as the world’s first food rescue organization, City Harvest is dedicated to helping to feed the nearly 1.2 million New Yorkers who are struggling to put meals on their tables. We will rescue 153 million pounds of food this year and deliver it, free of charge, to hundreds of food pantries, soup kitchens, and other community partners across the five boroughs. Our programs help food-insecure New Yorkers access nutritious food that fits their needs and desires; increase our partners’ capacity; and strengthen the local food system, building a path to a food-secure future for all New Yorkers.

The Digital Fundraising Manager will report to the Associate Director, Direct Response, and contribute to raising millions of dollars to support City Harvest’s work to help feed New Yorkers in need. We are seeking a candidate to manage and oversee the growth and retention of our online fundraising and cultivation for donors who give up to $10,000.

Key Responsibilities and Job Functions 

  • Oversee digital fundraising and cultivation to acquire, retain, and upgrade online donors.
  • In partnership with Associate Director, Direct Response, and Individual Giving Coordinator, manage and collaborate with our external consultant on a daily basis, overseeing the execution of the direct response digital fundraising program.
  • Deliver digital fundraising goals including, but not limited to, renewals, upgrades, monthly giving, and peer-to-peer fundraising.
  • Build engaging donor journeys and campaigns through a variety of touchpoints. 
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications team to develop and execute digital media campaigns, through digital advertising and Google Ads, as well as to coordinate messaging and integration of activities.
  • Identify and draw on trends that will inform strategies and regularly evaluate the ongoing improvement of fundraising ROI. 
  • Research, plan and execute innovative strategies to encourage and increase fundraising through digital direct response.
  • Partner with internal teams across External Relations to ensure integration and coordination with broader organizational programs. 


Skills/Job Requirements 

  • 5 years in digital fundraising, strong knowledge of current and developing fundraising strategies.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement digital fundraising strategies; results-oriented.
  • Ability to work well with a team and manage competing priorities.
  • Good organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a flexible way that allows for changes in assignments and priorities. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to write and edit copy in alignment with our brand voice.
  • Some knowledge of Blackbaud products, such as TeamRaiser and Luminate, is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in HTML/CSS is a bonus!

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant experience
