MARGARET FULLER HOUSE SUMMER PEACE ACADEMY:
The Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House, a nonprofit, social services agency located in one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Cambridge, seek Assistant and Full Teacher/Counselors for our School Age Program. We nurture the social, emotional, academic and physical health of children by providing them with firm and loving guidance, and a wide range of dynamic learning experiences in our classrooms and around the community. We advocate for children by building lasting relationships with families and collaborating with student’s classroom teachers. Children develop self-awareness, passion for learning and discovery, and enjoy the rewards of positive choices and being active citizens.

MFNH Summer Explorations teachers are responsible for planning and implementing an engaging,active, and hands-on program. We offer a variety of activities including cooking, dance, sporting events, theatre, arts activities and science experiments. We also have partnerships with many different organizations around the city that help us to enrich our curriculum.
Salary: $11 -$14.50 per hour, depending on experience.
Dates: 6/25 - 8/29, M - F*
- Please note it is important to work all program days. Strong preference will be given to Candidates without any schedule conflicts.
Lead daily activities at the house and around the local Cambridge area.
Educate youth about active citizenship and taking ownership of their community
Help plan new activities and expand curriculum
Mentor High School age Program Assistants and college aged interns.
Maintain a positive attitude and a passion for life
Experience working with children ages 5-13, preferably in a school, summer camp or coaching Outgoing, enthusiastic, comfortable speaking in public, and confident in leadership roles Patience, flexibility, creativity, and ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong behavior guidance skills Experience with different ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
