  • Teaches two 8-week Computer Skills Classes: Monday through Thursday evenings 6-9 pm at two facilities 
  • Emails attendance daily for all classes 
  • Tracks attendance and completion for all computer Skills Classes (1 Harlem, 1 Porter) 
  • Maintains participant case notes in database, record program data and other statistical records as needed 
  • Coordinates class rosters with various departments 
  • Places metrocard and late night pass requests for classes as needed 
  • Conducts individual tutoring sessions for trainees at the ABE and pre-HSE levels as well as trainees needing assistance to raise TABE scores to qualify for occupational training programs 
  • Creates appropriate and relevant lessons for each trainee for each session 
  • Emails attendance weekly for sessions 
  • Enters attendance weekly on all Google Sheets 
  • Maintains up-to-date records in CTDB regarding sessions 
  • Writes monthly evaluations, and enters in CTDB 
  • Clears participants for trainings and enrolls into targeted training 
  • Coordinates with Brooklyn-based Adult Education Instructor in regards to HSE Testing and the High School Equivalency Prep Class. Responsibilities will include: 
  • Tutoring participants who only have 1 or 2 remaining sections to pass 
  • Tutoring participants and eventually enrolling into the HSE Prep Class 
  • Applying for test dates or creating relationships with HSE Testing sites as needed 
  • Conducts Education and Training intakes as needed 
  • Acts as Education & Training resource at the Harlem Facility 
  • Follows up with clients for various team members 
  • Disperses communication & information for team members to clients 
  • Conducts Individual Computer Skills sessions as needed 
  • Assists in lesson development as needed 
  • Facilitates monthly Education and Training Orientation as needed 
  • Participates in a workforce development sector team 
  • Attends department and facility meetings 
  • Performs other duties related to the goals of the Education and Training Team as assigned 


  • Has the desire to carry out TDF mission
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Has experience with this population
  • Has good organizational and communication skills
  • Has the ability to interact with the trainees, case managers, and directors in the program
  • Proficient in Google platforms and Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Be self-motivated, and take initiative to learn new skills
  • Available to work evenings
  • Available to work and travel in both Manhattan and Brooklyn
