Position Overview: 

The Philanthropy Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to support the agency’s revenue-generating efforts and fundraising initiatives. The Philanthropy Coordinator will be responsible for individual and corporate fundraising, donor development and relations, grant writing, event planning and execution, and gift processing/donor acknowledgment, while also supporting the efforts of the Director of Development in cultivating and stewarding donors.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior experience in development/fundraising is a must.
• Two or more years' experience demonstrating success in donor relations and cultivation, grant writing, event planning, and data base management.
• Excellent writing skills, organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, oral and written communication skills, including willingness and ability to speak with prospects and donors.
• Familiarity with MS Office applications and the Windows environment. Experience with the Donor Perfect database system desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member with initiative and flexibility.
• Previous nonprofit philanthropy and event planning experience highly preferred.
• Valid IL driver's license and a car.
