Do you want to make a real and meaningful difference in criminal justice reform? Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM), the nation’s leading nonprofit sentencing reform organization, seeks a self-starting, hard-working, and detail-oriented Policy Associate to join our growing staff as we make exciting and momentous steps forward.
As we expand, we especially need to build our team of people pushing our federal and state advocacy campaigns. Our Policy Associate will be responsible for performing legislative research, analyzing legislation, writing bill summaries and briefing papers, monitoring sentencing and prison reform developments, and building and maintaining coalitions that include other advocates in states where we work. Strong writing skills and research experience are a must. Coalition outreach, building, and maintenance skills are highly desired. An ideal candidate will have a background in criminal justice policy or be a legislative correspondent or legislative assistant from Capitol Hill or a state legislature who is interested in focusing on criminal justice policy.
