The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) is the not-for-profit corporation that serves as the real estate developer and property manager of the Yard on behalf of its owner, The City of New York (the “City”). Areas of Responsibility


The Data and Operations Assistant is a key support staff member for the Brooklyn Navy Yard Employment Center. In this role, the Data and Operations Assistant supports the efforts of the Employment Center and is responsible for data entry, accurate tracking and reporting of program participants and employer clients utilizing Excel and Salesforce tracking software.


Data Operations



  • Manage timely and accurate data entry of all enrollment data of Employment Center job seekers
  • Monitor the accuracy of all data in the Employment Center database including job orders, placements, interviews, referrals, retention, and other information as requested
  • Prepare ongoing and adhoc data reports in an easy to understand, clear, concise, professional, and polished format to support data-based decision making and job order processes
  • Maintain organized system for record keeping of physical documents


Communications



  • Support information gathering for program communications (publications, brochures, newsletters)
  • Develop program communications to job seekers and employers as needed, including newsletters, emails, and flyers
  • Monitor and respond to job seeker communications to the Employment Center


Programmatic Support



  • Conduct check ins with prospective candidates and hired candidates via phone, e-mail, and text
  • Track job seeker retention and communicate results and follow up steps to account managers
  • Communicate to job seekers about available opportunities, as needed
  • Provide overall administrative support and serve as a resource for the Employment Center through effective coordination and collaboration with BNY tenants/businesses

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High level of organization and attention to detail/documentation accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent customer service
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision
  • Self-starter, able to work in team-centered environments as well as independently


Qualifications



  • Associate’s degree or commensurate work experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
