Big Sister Boston is seeking a detail-oriented, solutions-oriented individual who wants to play a key role in providing a meaningful experience to our supporters. The Development Operations Coordinator is responsible for stewarding and maintaining data in our Salesforce database that supports our development efforts. Responsibilities include gift entry, processing, and acknowledgment; giving trends reporting; stewardship and cultivation strategies tracking; and supporting colleague’s data analysis. The Development Operations Coordinator will collaborate with the Database and Data Quality Administrator to identify best practices and recommend procedures and solutions for database accuracy and efficiency. The Development Operations Coordinator must be someone who can provide excellent customer service through their communications with donors.

Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with all development staff to ensure accurate data to advance donors' relationship with Big Sister Boston
  •  Maintains and utilizes donor data for donation tracking, pledge documentation and payment schedules, gift processing, donor rolls, prospect lists, and performance tracking
  • Ensures database integrity and recommends procedural improvements
  • Partners with the Associate Director of Development to ensure accuracy and high quality of all donor communications including donor impact reports, gift acknowledgments, pledge reminders, and phone and email queries
  • Provides donor giving profiles, corporate performance reports and other intelligence-gathering information as requested
  • Coordinates and tracks stewardship and cultivation actions for individual, corporate, and foundation donors
  • Supports events as needed
  • Pulls reports and creates custom reports; analyzes findings
  • Serves as liaison to donors regarding gift and pledge details and payment as needed
  • Supports direct mail and online campaigns, including the creation of mailing lists  

Qualifications:

  • At least three years of fundraising, database/CRM administration or other transferrable experience, with demonstrated ability to enter data and pull reports from a CRM database
  • The ability and appetite to take initiative and deliver a quality product
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple, disparate tasks and prioritize
  • Demonstrated successful track record in creating organizational systems and managing projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills that are effective with a diverse range of audiences including board members, volunteers, internal staff, donors, executives, potential funding partners, and all constituencies
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
  • Able to effectively identify and utilize available resources to achieve goals
  • Excited about and effective in working autonomously and within a cross-functional team
  • Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and mail merges
  • Ability to support fundraising activities that occur on weekends, evenings, or early weekday mornings


Reports to: Associate Director of Development

Language Skills: Written and oral fluency in English

Start date: Immediately

Location: Big Sister Association Offices, 20 Park Plaza, Boston, MA

Compensation: $43,000-$47,000. Full-time, exempt position. Comprehensive benefits package including paid time off and health benefits.
