Tuesday’s Children is seeking a Manager to focus on grant writing and institutional donors. This manager will work together with development, program and executive staff to draft and submit proposals, reports, and other donor-facing materials and meet annual fundraising goals for institutional giving. The development manager will demonstrate the organization’s impact in proposals and reports and coordinate stewardship with institutional funders, including corporate, foundation and government partners.

Essential

Functions and Job Duties:

  • Manage the grant writing, submission and reporting processes from start to finish for grant proposals each year, including:

•      Conducting ongoing prospect research and analysis of new grant opportunities.

•      Liaising with foundation and institutional staff through phone calls, meetings, etc. representing Tuesday’s Children.

•      Maintaining a work plan of planned and submitted grant submissions.

•      Developing and reworking narratives about all aspects of the organization’s work to align with a diverse array of funding opportunities.

•      Working closely with the Program Directors and program staff to define outcomes and impact indicators for each new grant and to pull necessary program-related data to inform/include in grant submissions/reports.

•      Working closely with the Executive Director, Program Directors and CFO to craft accurate budgets and financial reports accompanying grant proposals and reports, and to keep them updated on all grants awarded.

•      Working closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely input is received and staff, board, and strategic partners are brought to the table proactively and thoughtfully.

•      Managing communications, reporting deadlines, and deliverables associated with a portfolio of current institutional/foundation funders, including:

·        Managing grant data and monitoring the grant reporting schedule, ensuring team members are aware of upcoming deadlines and that deliverables are completed on time.

·        Coordinating with and support program staff in writing and editing program-specific grant reports.

·        ther writing projects and funder communications as needed to support the Development and Program teams.

·        Writing, editing, and coordinating review of newsletter.

Qualifications: 

•      5+ years of experience in grant writing at a similar, fast-paced, nonprofit organization.

•      Strong understanding of program impact metrics and outcomes reporting.

•      Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge or similar data management software.

•      Strong project management and coordination skills.

•      Flexible, adaptable, and able to prioritize multiple projects given organizational needs.

•      Team-based and collaborative approach to work.

•      Creative, inspiring, and strong writer.

•     Ability to write for different audiences and to adapt and change writing styles.

   Excellent problem-solving skills.

This is a professional, full-time position. Remote position

with in-office option available if in Manhasset, NY.
