The Access Challenge seeks an experienced development professional responsible for building a successful, comprehensive fundraising program. The Access Challenge's mission is to ensure that all people have essential health services and primary and secondary education in their communities. We envision a world where the next generation of global citizens, our children, have equal access to the opportunities and services they need to thrive. This access will be universal… it will not be dictated by where a child is born, or his or by her economic status.


Job responsibilities:

·      Develop a clear and compelling written case for unrestricted and restricted support

·      Help clarify TAC’s needs and build its fundraising capacity

·      Develop and implement both annual and long-range plans to achieve TAC’s budgeted fundraising goals

·      Identify and manage the resources needed to carry out the fundraising plan

·      Identify, manage, and solicit high-level prospects

·      Track and report all gifts and pledges by source and purpose on TAC’s CRM database: Network for Good

·      Oversee donor stewardship activities

·      Train and motivate staff, volunteers, and board members


 The director of development will report directly to the CEO.

 

Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree in a field related to international development, business, or economics a plus

·      Minimum of five years of progressive work experience in fundraising and development, negotiating, awarding, and administering grants and contracts

·      At least 4-5 years of grant writing experience required

·      Excellent ability in writing and proposal development with proven ability to develop high-level, compelling proposals

·      Ability to quickly integrate complex ideas and align with funder requirements and priorities

·      Detail oriented with strong project management skills in planning, prioritizing, and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

·      Must be flexible and open to changing needs and priorities

·      Experience in developing budgets and quantitative data analysis

·      Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing 

·      Proficiency in French preferred but not required

·      Excellent research and analytical skills

·      Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills

·      Strong collaboration skills, and comfortable working with stakeholders across sectors and from diverse groups of people in different departments, functions and cultures

·      Outstanding organizational skills and strong attention to detail

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Dropbox and/or Google Drive, Skype and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) donor relations database system
