Communication and Grants Manager:

The position will support institutional and corporation/foundation giving at AMIGOS. The position will liaise closely with the CEO, VP of Finance, Development Associate and marketing team. This position is ideal for professionals interested in working closely with senior management while gaining experience on all aspects of fund development and marketing.


·Communicate the AMIGOS story, impact, and financial needs both verbally and in writing.

·Lead development of proposals for corporations and foundations. Support institutional giving by maintaining an organized grants calendar.

·Write compelling cases for investment in programs and operations for inclusion in annual appeals, the website, general AMIGOS communications, and other venues.

·Develop cultivation strategies for corporate and foundation donor prospects and generate supporting material.

·Develop cultivation strategies for monthly giving, corporate matching gifts, and employee giving programs.

·Work cross-departmentally to develop content that accurately shares the mission and impact of AMIGOS including but not limited to areas of need, program outcomes, and alumni stories.

·Develop alumni donor relations cultivation, engagement, and stewardship strategies.

·Support CEO and Development Associate with individual donor prospects and major giving.

·Research funding trends and new strategies in order to apply best practices.

·Accurate and timely upkeep of Salesforce data, including: updating constituent data, activity, and projections; tracking donor relationships and actions; building donor profiles; and generating both scheduled and ad-hoc reports on moves management. 

·Analyze data and run reports to show progress on donor strategies. Create tools and dashboards for donor solicitation and stewardship touch points. 

·Support the team in managing AMIGOS fundraising events including but not limited to sponsorship outreach, materials production, communication, content creation and program ideation.

·Partner with Finance team to facilitate tracking of grant-funded project budgets and expenses for major grants across our network.

Other tasks may be assigned in addition to the above.

Preferred Qualifications:

·Strong and versatile writing skills, including the ability to craft compelling communications for a variety of purposes and audiences.

·Attention to detail and project management skills.

·Capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities.

·Prior experience using a CRM database.

·Advanced Excel skills.

·Experience and ease with technology, fundraising software, and data analysis.

·Excellent relationship-building and communications skills, with strong follow-through and the maturity to engage with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

·Team player who thrives in an authentic, feedback-driven culture and an entrepreneurial, roll-up-your-sleeves environment.

·A demonstrated passion for the AMIGOS mission of helping youth realize their potential as global citizens.

·Willingness to attend meetings and networking events outside of normal work hours as needed.

·Professional experience in nonprofit development, grant writing and corporate donor outreach/ or highly transferable work experience.

·Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
