This is twelve (12) month position.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Client Manager, Human Services will play an integral role in assisting to shape, elevate and execute MusiCares’ LA Fires-related disaster relief and recovery support services. You will partner with the Managing Director, Human Services to create, execute, and enhance human services and programs. You will be responsible for all stages of human client service delivery including financial assistance, educational offerings and direct service programs. You will also assist in the development of additional disaster recovery programs and services while continually examining current services to determine efficacy and impact. You have strong attention to detail in event planning, have excellent collaborations skills in dealing with external partners, and astute assessment and people skills.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Actively participate in human service client program delivery, including temporary financial assistance for disaster relief and recovery-related issues, financial wellness, career enhancement services, legal and senior support services.
- Assist in coordinating opportunities for enhanced disaster recovery-related service programs, expanded provider partnerships and other strategies that expand department objectives, impact and goals.
- Interview clients who present with a variety of needs and problems and evaluate the nature and degree of presenting problem.
- Secure information such as psychological, addiction and social factors contributing to the client situation, and evaluate client circumstances and resources.
- Provide crisis intervention and informal counseling when needed.
- Complete biopsychosocial and general health assessments to determine level of financial support and referral to appropriate community resources as needed.
- Review, evaluate and make grant disbursement recommendations to the MusiCares Grant Review Committee.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director in the compilation of weekly records, reports and statistical information as needed for internal and external partners.
- Assist in the coordination and expansion of disaster recovery service-related events, clinics and workshops in partnership with Managing Director.
- Assume an integral role in planning a limited number of in-person community events and be on-site to facilitate activations.
- Support the development and enhancement of relationships with human/social services resources, providers and service-oriented facilities. Help to expand partnerships and relationships at the state, local and national level.
- Explore coalition and community partnerships with organizations in the disaster recovery and human services communities that will help enhance and expand MusiCares current program delivery.
- Support in the compilation, tracking and analyzing of statistical departmental data, developing proposals and subsequent departmental reporting for board of directors, grant writing, and internal and external partners.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in social services field.
- 3+ years of experience in human/social services fields.
- A passion for MusiCares’ mission and proven servant leadership mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- General knowledge of public benefits and non-public human service programs to assist those in need.
- Working knowledge/experience with clients facing mental health, addiction and health related issues.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate/execute on-site activations and work with venue staff/providers.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite, Mail Chimp, Event Bright and/or comparable creative suite software.
- Knowledge of database products and how to optimize data for reports and departmental analytics
- Strong commitment to confidentiality practices and issues of privacy.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to interact with variety of different constituents. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Creative leadership skills with excellent collaborative, interpersonal, written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated excellence in organizational and managerial skills with strategic thinking.
- Must be available and willing to travel at least two times within the twelve months to Los Angeles.
