Staff Accountant

Who We Are:

FJC – A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds (FJC) a boutique public charity that offers a diverse menu of philanthropic services to a range of stakeholders. With $300 million under management, FJC is primarily a platform for Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). In addition to DAF accounts, its over 1,000 accounts include fiscal sponsorships, collective giving accounts, and many other philanthropic vehicles that enable nonprofit organizations and their supporters to achieve their missions. To date, over $535 million in grants and $364 million in loans have been made to charities around the globe. Part of our mission is to offer our account holders innovative and effective ways to maximize their giving and help them meet their philanthropic goals.

Position:

We are seeking a well-organized, hardworking individual with strong attention to detail who is comfortable working in a performance-based environment. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Controller, Senior Financial and Investment Analyst and CFO/CIO to perform diverse finance department duties for all parts of FJC.

 Responsibilities: 

• Record daily journal entries for all cash receipts into FJC’s subsidiary ledger.
• Record all inter-account transfers.
• Administer and manage the positive pay program through FJC’s banking partner, including processing, clearing, and voiding checks in the subsidiary ledger.
• Process daily bank deposits using Remote Deposit through FJC’s banking partner.
• Prepare the daily accounting of FJC’s loan program, including calculating loan interest, providing pay-off information, and preparing monthly and quarterly loan statements.
• Provide customer service to FJC’s borrowers, including collection calls and assist with repayment methods.
• Reconcile monthly credit card reports to the general ledger.
• Monitor payment process of grants in Bill.com, including proactive outreach to grantees to help facilitate ACH payment.
• Other finance related projects, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other departments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and handle highly confidential information.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products with a proficiency in Excel required.
• Experience in Bill.com or QuickBooks a plus.
