ACCOUNTANT/ FULL CHARGE BOOKKEEPER

Your Role

The Accountant manages day-to-day bookkeeping transactions using expert knowledge and professional application of fund accounting principles. Interacts with other departments in regard to processing of financial transactions to ensure compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures and GAAP.

A successful candidate will provide a broad scope of professional accounting functions to complete the full accounting cycle, which include but are not limited to the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, compilations of specialized financial reports, preparation of accounting schedules, interpretation of financial data and account analysis.

The Accountant will be responsible for assisting departments with appropriate expenditure management, inquiries related to document processing and procedures, and providing professional accounting support. The selected candidate reports to the CFO.

What You Will Do

• Prepare journal entries, maintain ledgers, reconciles and analyzes funding sources.
• Reconciles all general ledger balance sheet accounts and maintains documentation.
• Records and accrues payroll and other expenses, as needed.
• Performs and manage Accounts Payable, initiates wire transfers/ACH and maintains proper AP files. Monitors funding levels.
• Prepares deposits, and record revenue by funding source.
• Partner’s up with Fundraising department to cross reference grants and other revenue sources to ensure the accuracy of information.
• Completes financial month end package schedules within the time frames set by the CFO.
• Compile list of items prepared for external auditors and assist on the preparation of any needed schedules/materials for and during the audit process.
• Performs and manages procurement process, and inventory tracking.
