Climate Power has an immediate opening for an Director of Digital Platforms to design and oversee Climate Power’s websites and social media platforms. 

Climate Power is an independent strategic communications and paid media operation focused on building the political will and public support for bold climate action. Founded by the Center for American Progress Action Fund, League of Conservation Voters, and Sierra Club, Climate Power integrates hard-hitting research, polling, state and national earned media, digital and paid media to influence the national conversation, embolden leaders to take immediate, bold climate action, and expose climate deniers and their oil and gas lobby allies.

Responsibilities

  • Program Direction: Design and oversee the successful implementation of high-impact platform strategies across Climate Power’s websites and social media properties.
  • Content Strategy: Develop cross-platform organic content strategies that maximize Climate Power’s reach among target audiences, increase engagement, and acquire and activate online activists.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of digital strategists in the production and execution of planned and rapid response content for social media and websites.
  • Creative Development: Work directly with the Creative Department to produce design assets and video content.
  • Data and Analytics: Work with colleagues and vendors to track social media performance and use regular analytics reports to make programmatic optimizations.
  • Project Management: See website and cross-platform content projects through from ideation to implementation, under tight deadlines and fast-changing environments.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience and/or demonstrated experience directing social media campaigns or digital programs to win votes, drive change, or reach new markets.
  • Excellent writer with strong proofreading skills and sound editorial and ethical judgment.
  • A strong understanding of the digital landscape and how audiences consume news and information online.
  • Experience deploying timely content during rapid response scenarios.
  • Familiarity with social media listening and analytics tools.
  • Detail oriented with an ability to juggle multiple projects for different stakeholders.
  • Open to developing new skills and experimenting with new tactics.
  • A positive team player with a passion for progressive change.
  • Climate issue advocacy experience is a plus.

This full time exempt position reports to Climate Power’s Deputy Managing Director for Digital.

Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and responsibilities. The salary range for this position starts at $99,000. We offer a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off.
