AIA Seattle is one of the largest architectural associations in the US, with an inspiring community of members who are passionate and engaged in our changing city. AIA Seattle is seeking a Membership & Development Coordinator to be the administrative backbone of our 501(c)(6) professional membership organization, AIA, and our 501(c)(3) strategic partner, Design in Public (DiP). The successful candidate will be collaborative, detail-oriented, comfortable managing and organizing data, and able to efficiently juggle multiple projects and priorities.
AIA Seattle believes our world needs the visionary and integrative thinking of architects and designers, and that design solutions can positively impact our communities. That is why we champion the central role of architects in creating and sustaining a better built environment. Guided by our values of excellence, advocacy, integrity, equity and stewardship, we prepare our profession to lead. We deploy design to make a difference, so that we are all able to do our best work in a culture of design that fosters equitable, resilient, thriving communities. Through our strategic initiative, Design in Public, we unleash the design thinker in everyone to illuminate Seattle’s challenges and ignite action. Our home is the Center for Architecture & Design, a dynamic public space for exhibits, programs and conversations that explore design’s role in shaping cities.
We are a member-led organization, and our volunteers inform our work. This interactive relationship allows us to harness the wisdom and leadership of our community to expand our impact. Together, we are working to implement thoughtful and actionable measures to advance sustainability, equity, diversity and anti-racism, and to support industry-wide culture change. While our recent statement on racial injustice and our commitment to combating climate change articulate our values, we recognize that action is what counts.
We are here because we all believe in what we are doing and are excited by the prospect of helping our members and making a difference in our city.
