GRANT WRITER - seeing a local candidate
Our mission at Conga Kids is to promote social-and-emotional wellness through social dance! Through a menu of expertly crafted dance education opportunities, Conga Kids prioritizes elementary school students' and educators' mental health by placing FUN at the center of our work. Pre-pandemic, Conga Kids provided our signature partner-dance program to 10,000 students in 10 + Los Angeles County school districts annually.
During the pandemic, the Organization pivoted to produce three interactive, video-based dance programs that reached over 75,000 students, educators, and households in the 2020/2021 school year. Looking forward, we plan to restore our partner-dance program with COVID-safety modifications, to support students' socialization during their reentry to campus-based instruction.
Through social dance, Conga Kids programs teach core values of respect, teamwork, and self-care. As we navigate the changing landscape of education, the Organization has two signature program offerings that allow schools to choose distance-learning or campus-based dance instruction. These standards-aligned programs explore the social-and-emotional wellness benefits of the Afro-diasporic social and partner dances like Salsa, Merengue, Swing, Hip-Hop, and more!
Join our team to help raise critical funding for this exciting Organization, allowing us to dance with more deserving students and families in the 2021/22 school year.
