Keep the residents of Schaumburg Township engaged, informed and having fun by joining our Programs & Outreach team as our Adult Program Coordinator. From civic engagement to self-improvement to arts & culture, you’ll be planning, developing and implementing a broad range of on- and off-site classes and workshops for adults. You will be an essential member of the Library’s Program Advisory Group, contributing to the library-wide program strategy and development of program goals to ensure that the Library is effectively serving the evolving interests and needs of our community.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of program coordination or event management experience.
The Adult Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling and staffing a diverse array of public programs for adult patrons, and contributing to the library-wide program strategy and development of program goals. The Adult Program Coordinator is also responsible for evaluating and analyzing adult programs to ensure that the Library is effectively serving the evolving interests and needs of our community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, schedule and staff a diverse array of public programs for adult patrons that support the Library’s plan of service, library-wide program strategy and departmental goals
Coordinate with outside organizations on combined programming endeavors.
Maintain and compile statistics on adult programs.
Evaluate program data to ensure continuous improvement and effective results.
Assist with building the adult programming portion of the annual budget.
Maintain responsibility of line item budget and stay within the budget.
Meet with speakers, performers, etc. to discuss program content and expectations; schedule and attend adult programs and events.
Maintain program files, including, record of expenditures, written correspondence, contracts, and invoices for programs and events.
Participate in the Library’s Program Advisory Group.
Participate in PULSE, programmers networking group.
Support and participate in department and Library programs and activities, as requested.
Arrange library bus trips and escort patrons on trips.
