I. Position overview:
· MCEDSV operates a statewide sexual assault hotline and is seeking both full time and part time employees.
· All successful candidates will be required to spend the first six weeks of hire in a classroom setting for in-depth training. This is shift work and candidates should list which shift is their preference.
· Candidates must be able to have empathy, work well in a fast paced environment and have past experience serving survivors of sexual assault.
· All MCEDSV work is done through an intersectional, trauma informed and survivor centered lens. This position is a wonderful opportunity for a candidate who wants to make a difference in lives of sexual assault survivors in Michigan.
II. Qualifications:
· Prior experience serving survivors of violence.
· The candidate will have a demonstrated passion and commitment to social justice.
· The candidate will have strong research and organizational skills, the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing, and well-developed analytical and computer skills.
· The candidate must be willing to spend the first two months of hire in daily classroom training.
· The candidate will have the ability to handle a high call volume, ability to be present to each survivor on the call.
· Advocates who speak a second language will be considered for additional compensation. Spanish, Arabic and Urdu speakers strongly encouraged to apply
III. Compensation:
Part Time $17-22 per hour (DOE)
