JOB DESCRIPTION

The Partnerships team is responsible for supporting talent accepted into Place for Purpose and securing quality positions with employer partners who share Baltimore Corps’ commitment to developing diverse talent in Baltimore’s social impact sector. The Partnerships Manager for Talent Development is a newly created role focused on cultivating incoming talent. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Partnerships, the Partnerships Manager for Talent Development is responsible for designing and managing a process to support all individuals accepted into Place for Purpose.

Working collaboratively across teams, the Partnerships Manager for Talent Development will ensure annual goals are met by providing ongoing support and communication with candidates from initial acceptance into Place for Purpose to placement with an organization. This role is responsible for leading talent support, designing and implementing training materials and resources, building a system for managing candidate progress, and enlisting a “coaching” team to build capacity of services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

DEVELOP AND SUPPORT TALENT (65%)

• Conduct initial consultations with individuals to assess strengths, interests, and skills

• Provide individuals with feedback and coaching to enhance application and interviewing skills leading to successful placements

• Design and implement candidate orientation

• Create trainings for both in-person and virtual delivery that support the development of talent

• Support candidates navigating the placement process including building their application, applying for positions, and interviewing

PROGRAM DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION (20%)

• Develop a system for managing and tracking individuals through Place for Purpose

• Communicate candidate skills and interests with team to inform employer outreach and coordinate a successful matching process

• Collaborate across teams to develop resources for talent with a focus on equity in the workplace

• Develop mentorship program to connect talent to additional professional development resources

• Identify, enlist and train “coaches” to support talent from among staff and Baltimore Corps network

• Assist in collecting and evaluating feedback from candidates

• Lead both small and extensive research projects to stay abreast of industry trends in talent development and training, case management, and equity in the workplace

DEVELOP AND STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIPS WITH EMPLOYERS (10%)

• Develop, nurture, and maintain relationships with current and prospective employer partners by understanding their needs and identifying Fellowship, Public Allies, and Place for Purpose opportunities

• Conduct ongoing and thoughtful research on potential partners to share with the team for recruitment efforts

• Represent Baltimore Corps at networking events and conferences, and during meetings with partner organizations

SPECIAL PROJECTS (5%)

• Support Baltimore Corps events, as needed

• Other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS OF A SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER:

• At least three years relevant experience in career coaching, talent development, or career mentoring

• Experience developing and delivering trainings and workshops

• Experience designing and implementing case management systems

• Strong knowledge of a job search process across multiple industries with experience to assessing skills and reviewing job application materials

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to provide clear and thoughtful feedback

• Strong comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with ability to be flexible while continuing to meet deadlines

• Creative problem-solver with an asset-based mindset, superior interpersonal skills, and a relationship-building orientation

• Self-starter with a strong work ethic; eager to learn and engage with complex systems and processes

• High level of detail orientation and follow-through

• Alignment with the mission and values of Baltimore Corps

• Knowledge of Trello, Salesforce, Google systems a plus or a willingness to learn

• Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends

• Knowledge of Baltimore nonprofit and social sector landscape a plus
