$37,000 - $47,000This position is paid with a salary ranging from $19-24/hour ($37,000-$47,000 for full time), commensurate with experience.

This job is 20-30 hours/week until July 1 when it becomes full-time (37.50 hours/week). Work is based in our Lincoln, MA office. Possibility of some remote work.

The Development Associate will provide critical fundraising and marketing support for Farrington Nature Linc (FNL). We are looking for a mission-focused, highly organized, detail-oriented, experienced, process-minded team member with experience in individual donor solicitation, social media, marketing, database management, and event planning, promotion and implementation. This person should have great people skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to deliver measurable, cost-effective results.

Individual Donor Management (40%)

●      Work with Executive Director to build a Culture of Philanthropy, which includes the creation of a yearly fundraising plan and quarterly donor email updates.

●      Manage, engage, steward, and cultivate Individual Donor, Corporate Sponsor, Foundation, and Grant relationships.

●      Research, identify and secure new funding opportunities.

●      With the Executive Director, steward the FNL’s staff, volunteers and actively engage Board around fundraising strategies and implementation of programming efforts.

●      With the Executive Director, serve as an active member of FNL’s Development Committee.

Event Planning and Implementation (30%)

●      In collaboration with the Executive Director, plan creative, community events that powerfully communicate FNL’s impact and need for support. (8-12 events per year, some on evenings and weekends).

●      Oversee all event logistics (sourcing and managing vendors, event timelines, venue scheduling, auctions, staff/volunteers, etc.) before, at the event and after each event.

●      Create and track budgets for each event, and help create a follow-up plan for event attendees.

●      Manage all event publicity (online, social media, local) to drive ticket purchases and to support org list building initiatives.

●      Work closely with the Executive Director in developing themes, collateral and messaging for events.

●      Provide administrative support to the Board Development Committee as it pertains to an annual fundraiser and third-party fundraising events.

Media Content Development (20%)

●      Create informative and persuasive content that supports the strategic objectives of the organization. For example, newsletters, social media posts, advertisements, email newsletters, web content, and hardcopy appeals.

List Management (10%)

●       Manage entries, reports, templates and tracking in donor database.

●       Ensure information of event invitees and attendees is correctly added into the database to maintain cultivation/stewardship plans and accurate reports.

●       Provide assistance with other fundraising and development tasks.

Experience

●      1-3 years of experience in fundraising for a small non-profit or similar type organization (including events and marketing)

●      High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, fundraising databases (Little Green Light is a bonus), email management programs, social media platforms

Excellent Skills

●      The ability to conceptualize major projects, coordinate detailed plans, solve problems, and follow through to meet deadlines

●      Multitasking, shifting attention from one project to another

●      The ability to communicate clearly, effectively and kindly with diverse constituencies, be self-motivated, and work independently

Attitude

●      Professionalism with discretion in managing confidential information

●      Maturity, humility, excellent work ethic, enthusiasm, positivity, “roll-up-my-sleeves” attitude, and sense of humor

●      Demonstrated commitment to cultural competency and living nonprofit work through a social and racial justice lens.

●      Comfortable working in a small, shared office space

Employees are required to utilize their personal cell phones for business-related needs. However, FNL provides reimbursement and a virtual phone system. If an employee does not possess a reliable cell phone, alternative arrangements may be made.

Benefits

Full time Benefits (will be pro-rated based on hours worked) include 25 days of paid vacation and sick time; flex time; mileage reimbursement; cell phone reimbursement of up to $25/month; a yearly stipend of $3,500 that is intended to go toward health, dental, or vision insurance and/or retirement savings, managed independently by the employee; bereavement; 8 weeks of unpaid leave for birth, adoption, or medical needs of self or a family member.

FNL’s flex time policy allows employees to take time off that they have accrued from working greater than 37.5 hours/week. Flex time must be used within two months of its accrual and is subject to supervisor approval.
