Braven is looking to immediately hire a Special Projects Manager (SPM) who will support the execution and growth of Braven Bay Area. The SPM will play a critical role across all functional areas, including program, partnership-building, and marketing and brand-building.

What You’ll Do:

As the Special Projects Manager, you will work closely with our Bay Area Executive Director, Bay Area Program team, and Braven Central team to steward crucial projects that will prepare us for growth and optimize our program model. The role will be dynamic given the quick pace of the work and the wealth of opportunities that the organization is evaluating at this time. The initial set of projects will include, but will not be limited to:

Support employer partnership strategy and build infrastructure

  • Analyze both the local job market and the career interests of our Fellows to illuminate intersections
  • Continue landscape research of prospective employer partners
  • Update our Salesforce tracking infrastructure to reflect our strategic approach
  • Inform strategy around employer partnership management

Innovate our program to better support “alums”

  • Explore root cases by analyzing both our current program supports and the needs of our current Fellows
  • Work to improve our current supports, including but not limited to:
  • Refining our system to track, update, and disseminate employment opportunities
  • Help execute pilot of talent matching services, e.g. resume book for certain levels of employer partnership
  • Ideate with the team and propose additional potential supports
  • Help run pilots to test the efficacy of proposed interventions and recommend decisions

Project manage aspects of migration of systems into Salesforce.com

  • Understand goals and plans for our Salesforce integration, and support the Bay Area team’s effort towards ful implementation


  • Support other programming responsibilities, including executing events, preparing for volunteer recruitment, and management and building our brand within the local community
  • Support logistics for staff meetings and staff-related programming such as quarterly off-sites and celebrations
  • Attend occasional evening programming at San José State University, some weekend events, and light travel for team retreats (2-3 times/year)

  • 2-12 years of work experience
  • Experience managing self and projects to positive outcomes required
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Experience working in corporate social responsibility or nonprofit/corporate partnerships a plus
