About the Marketing & Communications Team:

Our MarComm team’s primary responsibility is to tell the Non-GMO Project story by creating, managing, and building our external messaging and communications. We have an eye for beautiful design and a knack for weaving together language and science to tell our unique story. What We’re Looking For 

The Non-GMO Project is seeking a Donations Coordinator to coordinate, implement and administer comprehensive fundraising efforts for the Non-GMO Project. This position will be heavily involved in our annual giving and membership program, developing corporate sponsorship solicitation, as well as database management and giving day coordination. The chosen candidate for this position will assist the Director of Marketing & Communications and Marketing Manager in carrying out the overall development plan for our Marketing & Communications department.

Areas of Responsibility

Annual Giving, Membership and Corporate Sponsorship

  • Maintain the Annual Giving program. Responsible for all direct response solicitations within the context of an established organizational communications and marketing strategy. Focus attention on donor renewal, acquisition, reactivation, and upgrading gifts
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to develop philanthropic initiatives to engage NGP (Non-GMO Project) external stakeholders
  • In partnership with the Marketing Manager, support the creation of regular digital content and other marketing materials to use as donor communication tools for distribution through Salsa Engage and other social or digital channels
  • Work closely with the Retail Program to coordinate membership acquisition, renewal and sponsorship opportunities
  • Occasionally identify, coordinate, and submit opportunities for foundation or corporate grants for the organization
  • Manage and grow the overall base of support through weekly donor calls and retention/acquisition strategies
  • Plan, track and execute donor stewardship activities
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward individuals, corporations and other key funders to provide a steady and growing stream of annual revenue through individual and corporate memberships and sponsorships as assigned by the Marketing Manager
  • Drive prospect development efforts for organization from prospect research to identification to qualification to discovery. Donor prospect preparation, analysis and reporting as needed. Track contacts through Salsa CRM

Development Giving Day Management

  • Plan and execute all development related activities for Non-GMO Month
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate logistics with NGP staff
  • Coordinate the development of all fundraising related promotional materials and/or electronic solicitations in partnership with the Marketing & Outreach team
  • Responsible for giving day platform, management of ambassadors and appropriate follow up post-event

Experience You Bring 

We place a high value on lived experience coupled with professional experience

  • Strong preference will be given to candidates who are aligned with the Non-GMO Project’s mission and values
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in fundraising strategies, particularly around multichannel annual giving, membership programs and corporate sponsorship.
  • 1-3 years of fundraising and/or educational or professional related experience is preferred 
  • Salsa CRM and/or related CRM database experience is preferred
  • Social media experience and contact management system software, (Salsa Engage or Campaign Monitor, etc.)is preferred
  • Microsoft Office suite experience required
  • Nonprofit experience is a plus
  • Public relations experience is a plus
