Position Summary

MSG is currently seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Business Services Manager for its New York office. The individual selected for this position will be joining a highly motivated team dedicated to serving both the workforce needs of businesses and job seekers looking for gainful employment. MSG is looking for an individual who is committed to helping low-income unemployed individuals, enjoys forming relationships with business and industry leaders, and someone who can think and execute their role strategically.

 

The Business Services Manager will maintain and develop new relationships with businesses to understand their hiring and retention needs and collaborate with the Career Services team to understand the types of job opportunities best suited for candidates. They will aim to connect candidates to quality jobs and actively coach participants towards career advancement.


Duties and Responsibilities

·        Prospect for potential employer partners by leveraging networks, developing new relationships and active employer engagement

·        Research and learn about businesses to understand their hiring needs and how MSG can help fill their open positions

·        Represent the organization at business and industry events, making presentations to businesses

·        Develop and maintain relationships with employers to generate job opportunities for our job seeker candidates base

·        Work closely with the Career Services team to determine the types of jobs that match the skills and qualifications of our job seeker base

·        Screen candidates for job interviews and make appropriate referrals to employers

·        Maintain frequent, ongoing communication with both placed and unplaced candidates to track their progress towards employment, advancement and/or education and training goals

·        Make ongoing follow-up calls with job seekers and employers to determine employment status and satisfaction with services delivered

·        Maintain a presence in the community by participating in industry associations and industry related events

·        Meet performance goal expectations and prepare regular reports of results

·        Record daily activity in online database and report on weekly and monthly activity

 

Qualifications:

·        2 - 5 years of experience in one of the following areas: human resources, job development, business to business sales or account management

·        Motivated and creative team player with ability to work in fast-paced, results-focused environment

·        Excellent written, verbal and inter-personal skills

·        Ability to problem-solve and work with diverse populations and program representatives

·        Attention to detail and strong technology/computer skills required. Specifically able to learn and navigate multiple platforms, especially Salesforce, Google Docs, MS Excel. Type 60 WPM+ with ability to adapt to new equipment and technology

·        General understanding of the workforce development field preferred; eagerness to learn and expand knowledge required

·        Ability to problem-solve and work with diverse populations and program representatives

·        Motivated and creative team player with ability to work in fast-paced, results-focused environment

·        Working knowledge of Salesforce is a plus

·        BA or BS degree required
