Description

The Development Associate for Foundation and Corporate Relations supports the Director. S/he will engage in all aspects of fundraising from foundations, corporations, and government agencies to meet current and future institutional needs. This is a highly dynamic position requiring a multiplicity of skills. It provides many opportunities for professional and personal development.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist Director with fundraising from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: donor research, writing proposals and reports, donor stewardship, and general clerical/ administrative tasks
  • Assist with the cultivation and solicitation of corporate partners via research, networking, and the development of sponsorship opportunities and marketing materials
  • Obtain information for proposals and reports from Juilliard faculty and administration, as required
  • Oversee credit attribution document and its implementation
  • Maintain internal tracking systems and files, both physical and digital
  • Work together with Annual Giving on collaborative fundraising initiatives and events
  • Participate in donor or other meetings, as necessary
  • Assist Director with annual fiscal year-end analyses and strategic plan


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least two years professional experience in the Development Office of an arts or educational institution, or similar background
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to write well, persuasively, and quickly
  • Attention to detail and follow-through
  • Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office Suite 
  • The ability to work independently
  • Professional demeanor
  • Comfort in interaction with donors or other high-level members of the community (Trustees, special guests, etc.)
  • Knowledge of basic clerical activities (typing, faxing, photocopying, etc.)
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising software preferred
  • A degree in an arts discipline or in arts administration helpful
