The Program Instruction Supervisor is the primary staff member responsible for the technical and soft skill instruction curriculum implemented by Louisiana Green Corps to prepare individuals for high-wage, high demand environmentally sustainable construction, and green infrastructure careers. The Program Instruction Supervisor actively and directly, leads program delivery functions to participants, according to the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), OSHA 10, Clean Water Certificate (CWC), and other industry-based technical training and reports to the Program Director.

The Program Instruction Supervisor designs and implements instruction in a variety of settings. The Program Instructor will monitor the delivery of the curriculum by instructors, and/or consultants in the classroom, the field, and online (as required). The Program Instruction Supervisor will effectively communicate and work with all stakeholders to ensure that participants develop an understanding of the construction topics. Participants must understand basic construction principles, understand construction drawing, and direction to meet industry standards for green construction, energy efficiency and green infrastructure projects and ensure effective job readiness skills training including, resume building, customer service, effective communication skills, safety, and training for Louisiana Green Corps participants.


Program Delivery

  • Lead facilitator organizing the implementation of program design and development as needed to enhance LAGC curriculum and instruction, according to the NCCER, OSHA 10, CWC, and other green construction and infrastructure industry-based training.
  • Consistently provides information that supports well-structured experiences for participants in the classroom and during supervised fieldwork.
  • Supervises the content and techniques used by the instruction staff members to ensure program participants are prepared for career placement upon graduation.
  • Serves as a role model, leads, and actively directs fellow instructors and participants in the classroom and in the field as needed to ensure that the goals and objectives of LAGC are met.
  • Conducts life skills and work readiness training as needed and supervises the effectiveness and programs delivered by contracted partners who facilitate work readiness components. Provides evaluations and feedback on instructor performance and effectiveness.
  • Finds cost-effective ways to deliver programs and activities, ensuring the safety of program participants.
  • Drives participants to training, field work, interviews, and other events as needed.
  • Assist with participant tracking, paperwork completion, background checks, and drug testing as needed to ensure program quality and sustainability.
  • Assists with the coordination of case management for participants and provides information to ensure placement of participants at the end of the program, as needed.
  • Assists and takes the lead as needed or directed by the Programs Manager or Executive Director regarding the intake and enrollment of participants in the program.

Supervision and Administration

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the published policies that govern the operations of Louisiana Green Corps and actively drives initiatives that promote a culture of excellence among staff members and program participants.
  • Ensure classroom and fieldwork placements meet safety standards.
  • Supervises instructors and contract employees who deliver hard and soft skill instruction to participants.
  • Provides constructive feedback to staff members and evaluates the performance of instructors and independent contractors.
  • Leads and takes initiative to obtain and maintain quantitative data for reports, and other written documents for program assessment
  • Submits reports as requested by supervisors and stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Completes other administrative duties as assigned.

Outreach, Employer Engagement, and Partnership Development

  • Assists the Executive Director, Programs Manager and stakeholders with the supervision of organization staff and supports the recruitment, outreach, retention, and placement for LA Green Corps programs when needed and as directed.
  • Provides information and assists with efforts to find the placement of students with appropriate business and community partners for internships as needed. Works with staff to ensure effective communication and evaluation of program participants.
  • Works to identify partnership and resource opportunities for the LA Green Corps to aid and benefit curriculum development for the LAGC.
  • Networks with agencies and businesses that may support LA Green Corps programs.
  • Seeks out new and complementary services, training, and activities to enhance the LA Green Corps participant’s experience.

Sustainability Planning

  • Assists the efforts of the Executive Director, Program Manager and Stakeholders to communicate as necessary initiatives, activities, and program elements that enhance participant experience and increase employment possibilities in construction, green building, and water management.


At least 2 years of experience in either the construction, environmental sustainability, green or blue infrastructure fields with a portion spent as a Lead, Site Superintendent, Project Manager, or similar position. At least two-three years of experience in the workforce development field and at least one year of experience working and instructing youth and young adults.

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of construction codes, building materials, tool use and maintenance, and industry best practices for safety, durability, and quality.

Highly competent in reading, interpreting, utilizing, and making adjustments or recommendations to construction documents such as blueprints and inspection reports.

Ability to thrive by working independently toward a goal and prioritizing a project’s needs in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex procedures, tasks, and ideas in ways that are easy to understand.


This position is full-time, and the salary range is from $52,000 to 56,000 annually. Louisiana Green Corp provides a competitive health benefit; medical, dental, vision plan, retirement plan with a 3% employer match, life insurance and a generous PTO policy.


Basic Microsoft operating systems, navigation, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. QuickBooks, Zoom, Google Docs, and the ability to contribute to social media content production by taking photos to document and report outcomes for crucial projects completed by program participants for newsletters, annual reports, board reports, grants, or social media accounts.


Primarily - Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Program Instruction Supervisor is expected to work after-hours on weekends for graduation, alumni events, and donor engagement functions. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.


The successful candidate will be able to perform job responsibilities that require mobility and lifting of light to heavy loads as required to support the instruction of the program participants. Must have a valid Louisiana State Driving License with a clean driving record. This position may be required to operate a vehicle(s) transporting up to 12 participants to various locations for program purposes. Must monitor the performance condition and maintenances of cars used to transport participants. Must have reliable transportation to attend meetings and conduct business. Must accurately follow routes, maps, and directions to multiple locations promptly and exercise good judgment while driving by respectfully operating vehicle(s) according to the State of Louisiana’s traffic laws and safety standards.


Upon initial employment, candidates must pass a fingerprint clearance and background check, including criminal history, personal references, and employment/education verification. Louisiana Green Corps may perform additional background checks and screenings as needed to ensure the safety of program participants and community stakeholders.
