Pecos EIS Coordinator-Legal Service Coordinator

This position will be onsite in Pecos, TX 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversee and manage daily operations of Know Your Rights presentations, legal intakes, and follow-up consultation for Unaccompanied Children at the Facilities in accordance with an assigned plan and schedule;
  • Serve as a liaison between RAICES and the EIS Contractor to organize daily services;
  • Set up daily legal operations by coordinating with EIS contractor staff;
  • Train and oversee RAICES staff who work in EIS Operations;
  • Manage questions about operations according to the assigned plan and schedule;
  • Ensure proper supplies and equipment necessary for legal services;
  • Attend necessary meetings with stakeholders about daily operations, both external and internal;
  • May be asked to conduct Know Your Rights presentations and thorough intakes to ascertain immigration relief as needed;
  • Assume general administrative responsibilities, including detailed case management, supervision of legal assistants and volunteers, and timekeeping;
  • Other duties, activities and responsibilities, as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Fluency (written and verbal) in both the Spanish and English languages;
  • Must be able to pass all required background checks including a security clearance to enter a United States military base;
  • Able to travel or relocate to remote sites within Texas;
  • Capacity for working both independently and on team projects;
  • Proficient in use of technology including MS Office, Google Apps, general office equipment and internet research;
  • Previous experience in immigration law and working with children, preferably in a shelter setting;
  • Previous supervision experience;
  • Possession of Bachelors degree or comparable work experience is preferred but not required;
  • Ability to thrive in a high-paced work environment, while maintaining both procedural and ethical integrity; and
  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Will be subject to security clearance/background check; and other required conditions as required for admittance.
