The Actors Fund, a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a Manager of Major Gifts to serve as a primary point of contact for major donors, and to raise contributed revenue annually as part of a national individual giving team. This is currently a remote position with the expectation of an eventual return to The Fund’s New York office.
As part of a 20-person Advancement Department, the Manager of Major Gifts will manage a portfolio of approximately 150 donors and prospective donors, maintaining accurate records of donors/prospects in the Raiser’s Edge database and using Moves Management protocols to increase giving over time. Working with the Chief Advancement Officer and Individual Giving team, the Manager of Major Gifts will identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and secure annual major gifts for The Actors Fund’s “In The Spotlight” program ($2,500+) and other campaigns through in-person and virtual one-on-one meetings (5-10 per month) and/or in writing or over the telephone.
In collaboration with the Individual Giving team, the Manager of Major Gifts will develop and implement annual major donor cultivation and solicitation action plans, including renewals, upgrades, prospecting and acknowledgements; ensure smooth fulfillment of membership benefits for In The Spotlight donors; and support planned giving donor solicitation. The ideal candidate will be creative, organized, strategic and collegial, demonstrating long-range planning skills, flexibility, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for the work of The Actors Fund.
The Actors Fund is committed to diversifying its donor base and ensuring an inclusive environment for all. Familiarity with issues of diversity, equity and inclusion as well as an understanding of the importance of these goals will be a vital and ongoing responsibility of this and all positions in the Advancement Department.
