$60,000 - $75,000$70,000 to $85,000 Canadian

Stand.earth is seeking a passionate and experienced campaigner to develop and implement strategies to raise awareness and build power to stop the expansion of the oil and gas sector.

In October 2018, the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) described the terrifying impacts of even a 1.5°C rise in global temperatures, and warned the international community about the importance of limiting any further warming beyond this point. The authors of the IPCC report reminded us that a societal transformation of this scale “is possible within the laws of chemistry and physics,” but will require “unprecedented changes” before 2030. One of the clearest steps we need to take to avoid this impending disaster is to stop approving and building new fossil fuel projects now.

To this end Stand’s Canadian climate and energy campaigns have focused raising the ambition of climate policy and stopping new tar sands projects like the Trans Mountain pipeline and the Teck Frontier Mine. In the coming months we will expand the scope of our work to include working to stop the growth of fracking and LNG in British Columbia.

We encourage applicants to apply by February 21, 2020. This position is open until filled.
