ROLE:

The Food and Drug Law Institute (FDLI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization that offers education, training, publications, and professional engagement opportunities in the field of food and drug law. As a neutral convener, FDLI provides a venue for stakeholders to inform innovative public policy, law, and regulation. FDLI’s scope covers all industries regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and related agencies and authorities in the U.S. and globally, including drugs, medical devices, biologics, food, dietary supplements, cosmetics, veterinary, tobacco and nicotine products, and cannabis-derived products.

As Salesforce Manager, you will be responsible for administration and support of FDLI’s Salesforce-based technology infrastructure. FDLI uses Fonteva’s AMS platform. This position offers many opportunities to streamline processes, build out additional features, create new pathways to integrate other platforms, and improve the overall efficiency and efficacy of the organization. An ideal candidate would be curious, flexible, and a detail-oriented problem solver. This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily administration and support of Salesforce database
  • Keep well-informed of updates and ensure platform is updated in a timely manner
  • Understand the organization’s existing platforms and integrations
  • Manage users and troubleshoot problems
  • Provide Salesforce training and support to current and new FDLI staff
  • Build routine reports and dashboards
  • Develop special reports and dashboards upon request or need
  • Ensure organizational SOP documentation remains current
  • Assist in streamlining processes, creating workflows, etc.

 

HERE’S SOME OF WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE TACKLED IN THE PAST WEEK:

  • Tested routine updates in sandbox environment and updated in live environment
  • Built customized reports to track event registration over time from specific groups
  • Researched and corrected a reported error in the checkout process of our online member portal
  • Built custom fields on the account object to gather membership data for reporting purposes
  • Worked with FDLI staff to create new forms linking to Salesforce CRM or other systems
  • Built custom report for targeted marketing purposes and imported into Marketo platform
  • Met with web and membership managers to connect website portal opportunities in Salesforce
  • Trained a new staff member on Account and Contact objects

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work/technical experience
  • 1-2 years Salesforce experience or Salesforce certification
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Experience integrating other platforms (email marketing, data integration, etc.)
  • An interest in learning new and developing technologies in a rapidly changing landscape
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate and work with non-technical staff to improve processes and streamline work
  • Ability to develop and offer training to colleagues
