Overview 

The Cycling Health & Wellness Coordinator will organize and oversee the implementation of a cycling curriculum that serves to anchor an integrated Health & Wellness program that includes, but is not limited to; nutrition and mental health primarily through a lens of cycling, and human development programming. The cycling program – design and implementation - is the Coordinator’s most time consuming activity. The Cycling Coordinator will work closely with the Academic Coordinators, the Program Director, and partner organizations to ensure that students have access to the resources and opportunities that are necessary for personal and organizational success. .  

This position is classified as Exempt.

Salary range $48k-$50k

Benefits included: healthcare by Kaiser Permanente, vision by United, dental by Delta.

Days off per year: Approximately 32 days off, with days off closely following the school calendar.

Sick days: Five sick days per year

Specific Oversight 

The Cycling Health & Wellness Coordinator is accountable for the following: 

Design & Implementation of a cycling curriculum that provides students with multiple entry points into successful cycling. 

  • Direct the high school cycling program and provide support to the middle school cycling programs throughout the calendar year.
  • Implementation and refinement of the MH360 bicycle safety program. 
  • Implementation and refinement of the MH360 bicycle mechanics program. 
  • Continual refinement of the cycling curriculum in response to the evolution of student need and interest.  

Cycling Equipment Management 

● Maintain cycling equipment inventory. 

● Organize all cycling related gear, ensuring that the necessary equipment is always on hand, is safe, and is clean. 

Provide Program Support 

● Organize team events and trips related to cycling events, outings, trainings, etc. ● Coordinate external summer opportunities. 

● Assist in service learning projects and local field trips. 

Support Annual Recruitment Efforts 

• Participate in creation of the high school recruitment plan 

• Organize recruitment efforts, events, & materials 

• Communicate with students, parents, and teachers to support recruitment efforts Health & Wellness Programming Through Cycling

● Coordinate with the necessary organizational partners so that MH360 students have access to nutritional expertise that can inform their approach to performance, on a bike or off. 

● Foster partnerships with local organizations that can support MH360’s approach to mental health from a cycling perspective and beyond. . 

Volunteer management 

● Successfully recruit and incorporate daily volunteer coaching help. 

● Coordinate and oversee individual coaches. 

Establish strong relationships with MH360 stakeholders 

● Build robust relationships with MH360 students. 

● Build strong relationships with volunteer coaches. 

● Build impactful relationships with the broader cycling community.

● Communicate with students and, when necessary, parents about issues related to learning and development in cycling that transfer to learning and development in the classroom and at home. 

Transportation 

● Organize supplemental transportation when the need arises. 

● Assist with transportation, when necessary. 

● Organize transportation to and from local events. 

Data Collection 

● In collaboration with the partner organization (e.g., Outride Foundation) , organize the collection of data across Health & Wellness programs that can be used to demonstrate growth/effectiveness across MH360 student population. 

● Collect data for cycling and fitness related activities to engage students in: ● Understanding their output 

● Connecting to the broader cycling community 

  • Working harder 
  • Individual’s mental health as a result of cycling
