    Oyate Group is a Bronx-based nonprofit organization. Our mission is to alleviate poverty by a three-prong strategy: to educate and inform, to provide resources and services and to create sustainable and holistic structures to empower underdeveloped communities across New York City.

    Rise Leadership is Oyate’s leadership program for high school sophomores and juniors. Rise Leadership aims to inspire participants to become creators, entrepreneurs, critical thinkers, community leaders and social change makers.

    Participants learn leadership skills through arts + civic engagement, design, technology and entrepreneurship. By the end of the school year participants will have learned to identify/exemplify qualities of a leader, gain a stronger sense of self and learn about careers related to their interests.

    Oyate is seeking a passionate and experienced Business and Entrepreneurship Lead Facilitator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business, entrepreneurship, and education, and will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging, hands-on curriculum to high school 10th and 11th graders. The Lead Facilitator will inspire and mentor students, helping them to develop their business acumen, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

    The Business and Entrepreneurship Lead Facilitator will: 

    Conduct the Rise Leadership Business and Entrepreneurship after school sessions to (15) high school sophomores and juniors, 1x a week for the school year. (The Business and Entrepreneurship Cohort will meet Thursdays from 4pm-7pm at Oyate’s Headquarters) 

    Develop and implement culturally responsive & comprehensive curriculum tailored to the needs of 10th and 11th graders.

    Facilitate interactive workshops, activities, and projects that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.

    Mentor and support students in their entrepreneurial endeavors, providing guidance and feedback on their business ideas and projects.

    Collaborate with other educators and program staff to ensure a cohesive and integrated learning experience.

    Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing regular feedback and reports to students, parents, and program administrators.

    Find and schedule exposure opportunities for participants outside of the program’s immediate area.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and inspire students.

    Requirements: 

    • At minimum three years’ experience working in youth development or teaching in NYC
    • Bachelor’s Degree in related fields: business, education, entrepreneurship etc. 
    • Strong subject matter expertise
    • Significant first hand experience in business development
    • Demonstrated experience in teaching and curriculum development
    • Have a strong foundation in social justice and racial equity work

    Compensation: $400/session 

    Hours: Thursdays 3pm-7pm, plus an additional hour for planning.
