East End House is looking for a Financial Manager to oversee the basic bookkeeping functions of its Business Office. This is a minimum of 35 hour a week position exempt position with benefits. This position reports to the East End House CEO.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

  • Managing payables and receivables, including collections;
  • Closely manage cash flow to ensure all vendors and services are paid so that services remain uninterrupted
  • Oversee the administration of payroll, including ensuring appropriate pay rates and deductions
  • Assisting in ensuring all necessary paperwork and documents are in place for new hires, particularly in conjunction with the processing of payroll
  • Generating financial reports and perform a minimum of monthly account reconciliations;
  • With the Senior Level Financial Consultant, leading agency’s annual audit preparation;
  • Preparing individual billing statements for consumers and ensuring at all times, that the management of receivables is performed in compliance with the Family and East End House Tuition Agreement and Policy (this includes no family being more than two weeks behind in tuition payments);
  • Assist in tracking any new requirements and regulations regarding payroll or benefit administration to ensure East End
  • House is in compliance with new regulations and/or relevant best practices (i.e., new minimum wage requirements, etc.); also ensure that any new requirements are implemented in a planful, timely, efficient and effective way;
  • Consult as needed in the preparation of budgets;
  • Assuring all necessary fiscal controls and processes and internal controls are in place and functioning, including invoice review, cash disbursement and procedures for handling cash and checks;
  • Conduct tracking and make accounting entries for grants management of grants of $10,000 or more;
  • Work closely with Senior Level Financial Consultant to ensure ready access to necessary records and for the completion of monthly and quarterly tasks, including quarterly “hard closes” and GAAP basis financial statements;
  • Submit accurate and up-to-date account receivable aging report to CEO for review at least once monthly;
  • Consult and assist in other areas as needed by the CEO.

Qualifications:

  • Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge and skills a must
  • A minimum of five to ten years of work experience in a comparable position
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, financial management, or comparable field preferred
  • Professionalism and excellent people skills; customer service-focused
  • Excellent verbal/written communications skills
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail required
  • Demonstrated skill working with financial information and maintaining records
  • Requires proficiency in Quick Books, Excel and Word
  • Highly proactive and action-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on tasks assigned
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to multi task
  • Desire for professional growth and to accept increasing responsibilities
  • A Criminal Offenders Records Information and Sexual Offenders Records Information request must be completed
