Project Invent (projectinvent.org) is a national nonprofit empowering high school students across the country to invent technologies for social impact. We train teachers in design thinking, engineering, and entrepreneurship to lead students through identifying real problems in their communities and inventing impactful solutions. At the end of the year, students pitch their inventions to investors and tech leaders at our Demo Day events. Since 2018, we've grown from one to 70 schools across the country and 70% of our fellows teach in low-income serving schools.

We are seeking a Digital Outreach Manager who is a creative, organized professional with digital marketing and storytelling skills. As the Digital Outreach Manager, you will design and execute our digital communications, marketing, and storytelling strategies. The ideal candidate will be able to craft compelling, authentic messaging and build an intentional strategy to target a diverse group of audiences, including our teachers, students, volunteers, and donors. They will be deeply committed to advancing issues of equity, justice, and agency, and have an understanding of how those issues intersect with education and design. What we're looking for…

  • Talent at building online communities and growing top-of-funnel audiences
  • Ability to make the case for Project Invent to various audiences, including educators, donors, students, and volunteers
  • Experience building and managing cross-channel marketing campaigns on digital platforms (Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).
  • A data-driven decision-maker who uses A/B testing to evaluate marketing strategies. 
  • Experience with visual design using tools such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Canva.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to present ideas and stories in an organized, compelling manner.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
  • Committed to our mission of empowering students with 21st-century skills, through invention.
  • Experience with Google Ads and SEO is a plus.
  • Experience with social marketing platforms like Later or Buffer is a plus.
  • Experience with integrating digital marketing channels and segmenting audiences in Mailchimp and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Experience as an educator is a plus.

Roles & Responsibilities…

  • (50%) Digital Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute a digital marketing strategy that includes identifying and building relationships with PR contacts, managing Google Ad campaigns, improving SEO, managing all digital marketing platforms (email, blog, social media, podcasts, etc.), updating and maintaining the website, and analyzing target audience insights and trends to build best practice strategies. 
  • (30%) Storytelling: Craft consistent, compelling, and creative content for marketing campaigns across online and offline channels. Create story content (videos, blog posts, articles, slide decks, social media posts, etc.) that can be used to generate excitement and engagement from new audiences. Connect Project Invent stories to regional and national conversations on education, impact, and equity.
  • (20%) Design: create compelling graphics, images, and materials for program and development purposes.
