The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) is seeking a Program Associate to support the Program team in the planning and execution of the USGLC’s national membership and outreach events, as well as the signature events including the annual Tribute Dinner and State Leaders Summit. The position reports to the Program Director and resides in Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities will include:
- Event Logistics and Planning Support – Support the planning and execution of D.C. salon style, hill and membership events with responsibility for program inception, including creating initial event plans; speaker invitations and follow-up; assisting in stewarding participant recruitment, including tracking RSVPs; coordinating interdepartmental and external briefing materials and providing logistics and on-site support. Additionally, responsible for the interdepartmental coordination of briefing materials and support for the USGLC’s signature annual State Leaders Summit and Tribute Dinner events.
- Event Execution – Assist other members of the Program Team, as necessary, in planning and implementing meetings and events, including venue logistics, travel logistics, catering and facility logistics, material production, correspondence, recruitment tracking, including for internal meeting arrangements, state-level and high-level membership events and signature annual events.
- Speaker Recruitment – Responsible for liaising with speakers, in addition to coordinating USGLC departments in scheduling Capitol Hill and D.C. salon style events, including coordinating the drafting of invitations and briefing materials.
- Other - Duties as assigned based on the needs of the Program team.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. The position requires at least 2 years of advance experience and/or event planning; campaign advance/ scheduling experience a plus. Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills are required. Interest in foreign policy is desirable. Limited travel is expected. Ideal candidate will have high attention to detail and expertise working with Microsoft Office. Working knowledge in SalesForce and Convio is a plus. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
