The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for organizing and planning logistics for the two upcoming Take Steps fundraising walks in New Jersey. This position will work with the Chapter and National staff to lead the recruitment and execution of event day walk logistics and volunteers.

This is a 10-week project leading up to the two spring walks, Monmouth & Ocean County Walk on Sunday, May 20, 2018 & the Liberty State Park Take Steps on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manages logistics for the walk sites within the timeline provided

• Research, recommends, selects, and negotiates vendor contracts

• Research, recommends, and negotiates new enhancements to event day experience

• Plan all logistics for events including, catering and in-kind food donation needs, production plan, site plan, risk management (police, fire, EMS), a/v equipment, and entertainment

• Recruit and organize event day volunteers

• Customize and prepare event day plans, scripts, and signage

• Compile summaries of total event costs and tracks expenses

• Manages event inventory, including purchasing and delivery to event site

• Responsible for event emergency plans, insurance documents, contact lists

• Organize inventory and pack in advance for the event

• Assess inventory and place orders for materials needed

• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Manage day of logistics with Walk Manager for both walks


Experience Requirements:

• 4 years event planning, communications, sales, and/or marketing
