An Excellent Opportunity

We are looking for a Program Specialist who will adapt current programs, resources, and services and, occasionally, write new programs for girls in grades K-12, based on Girl Scouts’ National Program Portfolio. We are on a mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. The right candidate will ensure achievement of national program outcomes for girls by supporting volunteers who deliver most of our programs through troop activities and local and council-wide events.


Here’s What You Will Be Doing

  • Writing curriculum for virtual and in-person girl programs for adult volunteers to deliver to girls locally.
  • Delivering some programs for groups of up to 250 girls (grades K-12) via video-conference platforms.
  • Planning and delivering in-person program events.
  • Evaluating program outcomes.
  • Promoting program opportunities and resources through Council website and print and electronic publications.
  • Working with Customer Care department on program registrations.
  • Supporting Equipment Center on upkeep and check-out of program kits.
  • Providing excellent customer service to volunteers regarding program events and resources.

Is this you?

  • Superior writing skills
  • Excellent oral communication skills for in-person and virtual presentations for adults and children
  • Experience designing, writing, and implementing curricula for elementary and secondary students, as well as adult learners
  • Strong, positive customer service skills for working with children and adults
  • Self-motivated and efficient with strong time-management skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and video-conferencing platforms (i.e. Zoom, GoToWebinar)
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changes needed for programs and locations, including in-person and virtual events
  • Ability to maintain a varied work schedule including frequent evenings and weekends
  • Have access to automobile for regular travel
  • Passionate about girl leadership; experience in Girl Scouting, a plus
