Safe Jobs Collaborative

The Safe Jobs Collaborative (SJC) is a network of social service agencies and employers sharing the common goal of assisting survivors of human trafficking and individuals at risk of being trafficked in becoming employed. By leveraging community resources and bridging relationships between social service providers and employers, BEST aims to reduce barriers to employment for Safe Jobs Collaborative participants.

This is an exciting opportunity to help grow and strengthen our program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support to participating service agency partners
  • Collaborate with case managers and advocates from service agencies to support the “SJC Participant” in job readiness, occupational training needs, and/or need for additional resources within the employment and financial literacy fields
  • Assist service agency partners with navigating our Safe Jobs Employer Library and refer SJC participants to available jobs within our network
  • Plan, coordinate, facilitate, and co-facilitate job readiness and employer workshops
  • Hold monthly meetings with service agency contacts to stay attuned to needs of SJC participants 
  • Collaborate with Safe Jobs Program Coordinator to place eligible SJC participants in internships
  • Support interns with their employment goals throughout duration of internship and provide follow up support to ensure intern’s success in finding long employment
  • As appropriate, co-present Stress, Trauma, and Resilience training sessions for Safe Jobs Collaborative employers
  • Receive incoming requests from service agencies outside of network, and refer their clients to the proper services 
  • Lead quarterly meetings with service agency partners
  • Collect monthly reporting from service partners, and track SJC participants using Salesforce database
  •  Provide feedback on how to improve retention and job placement outcomes
  • Assist the Sr. Program Manager and Safe Jobs Collaborative Coordinator in identifying trends in Safe Jobs Collaborative outcomes and troubleshoot as needed in order to meet strategic goals 
  • Additional responsibilities as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of issues related to poverty, homelessness, human trafficking, and the educational and social service systems that serve vulnerable individuals 
  • Sensitivity to the needs of clients who may be survivors of human trafficking or at risk of being trafficked
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong public speaking and classroom facilitation skills
  • Excellent follow through, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Data management experience
  • Able to motivate partners to fulfill tasks
  • Enjoys bringing ideas from concept through fruition, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Personable, hospitable, and highly adaptable
  • Proactive and able to work independently without a high level of management oversight
  • Ability to understand and maintain appropriate boundaries

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in social work or the humanities, or equivalent experience performing work related to career assessment and planning, support services, occupational training, workplace readiness and job placement
  • Previous experience working with survivors of human trafficking in a social service setting
  • Ability to speak multiple languages

 Position Details

  • This position will be 30 hours/week starting and after onboarding will increase to 40 hours/week
  • Wage range of $18-24/hour, depending on experience and skills
  • Benefits include health insurance, retirement, paid vacation leave, and paid sick leave
  • Position is temporarily remote. Once COVID restrictions are lifted, the position is on-site in our Seattle office for four days a week, with one remote day per week
  • Position reports to the Safe Jobs Collaborative Program Manager
