Organizational Background: Founded in 1995, East LA Community Corporation (ELACC) mission is to advocate for economic and social justice in Boyle Heights and Unincorporated East Los Angeles by building grassroots leadership, developing affordable housing and neighborhood assets, and providing access to economic development opportunities for low and moderate income families.


Program Administrative Assistant – The position is housed within ELACC’s Community Wealth Department and is accountable for providing administrative support for the department and assisting with the management of ELACC’s Asset Building Programs (i.e. Free Tax Preparation Assistance, Financial education/counseling, Lending Circles, and Homebuyer programs).



-      Screening incoming calls/emails/walk-ins and determining participant’s needs

-      Routing calls/emails to specific housing counselors/coaches and/or referring to department workshops

-      Scheduling counseling and workshop appointments

-      Coordinating and planning education clinics/classes

-      Assisting in client intakes and file preparation; conducting mailings

-      Inputting data in client database

-      Translating marketing materials

-      Ensure a clean, organized and optimum workspace

-      Assisting in outreach activities

-      Facilitating financial literacy and homebuyer workshops

-      During tax season, assist with ELACC’s free tax preparation site (VITA)

-      This position also requires reviewing Lending Circles applications and working closely with ELACC’s Financial Coach to ensure the success of the social lending program

-      Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by supervisor



-      Must be bilingual, English/Spanish, with excellent written translation skills

-      Excellent customer service skills

-      Attention to detail and ability to work independently without close supervision

-      Professional demeanor and networking skills

-      Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and Google docs

-      Excellent written and oral presentation skills

-      Ability to manage time effectively

-      AA degree preferred or related work experience will be considered

-      Have reliable transportation

-      Be available to work weekends and evenings          

-      Be familiar with financial education programs and services preferred



This is a part-time position (32 hours a week) with benefits that pays $15 an hour. ELACC is an equal opportunity employer.
