Oxfam' Women's Economic Empowerment team is seeking a skilled and dynamic adviser with passion for advocacy and influencing that transforms unpaid care and domestic work in developing countries.  

The ideal post-holder can challenge economists to value unpaid work differently, while speaking with empathy about the lives of women on the ground, and with credibility about the practical steps that policy makers can take. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a ground-breaking programme of national and international influencing on unpaid care, a central component of the Women’s Economic Empowerment strategy.  


The post-holder will be responsible for project management of the component of WE-CARE involving influencing in four African countries and continental African processes. An excellent communicator and team coordinator, she/he will have experience and skills on working with teams based at a distance, to provide support to project leads implementing innovative and complex influencing strategies. The adviser will be committed to support the capacity development of others, inspiring curiosity and learning about unpaid care approaches.


The post-holder will join a global team responsible for advancing thinking, influencing policy and practice, and managing multi-country programmes promoting innovative approaches to ‘new issues’ in development.
