About the Position: CATF seeks a Development Coordinator to support a rapidly expanding fundraising program. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in administrative, project management and programmatic support of a nonprofit development and fundraising program. As CATF’s Development Coordinator, you will support CATF’s individual and major gifts efforts in coordination with CATF’s leadership and fundraising team. In this role, you will carry out processes in support of our donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities. Proficiency with donor development systems and protocols is required, as is a high level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.   

The Coordinator will be tasked with partnering with our development team on prospect development research; tracking donor communications and activities via CRM (Salesforce); organizing and preparing stewardship materials for outreach to existing donors, tracking timelines and deadlines for donor development processes, and assisting with engagement activities and events as needed. The coordinator may also serve as a direct point of contact for some donor partners helping to facilitate the technical side of their contribution process in partnership with gift officers.  

With the partnership and support of a gift processing specialist, the Coordinator will help manage our Salesforce CRM, ensuring accurate and timely data entry, creating meaningful reports to help inform decision making, and coordinate with the fundraising and finance teams to track revenue and projections. You will also help to create and manage campaigns and virtual events, to expand our donor base and increase revenue.  

You will support our Director of Donor Impact, Major Gift Officers, and Executive Director, with their fundraising efforts, which will require highly effective communications skills both within and outside the organization. The Development Coordinator will partner with CATF’s existing fundraising and communications staff, program staff, leadership team, and board members to make this growing program a success. Most importantly, the Development Coordinator will be prepared from day one to join a small, entrepreneurial team of problem solvers, be willing to handle all tasks necessary for successful donor development and think creatively and strategically about how to get the job done. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor and track progress with prospects/donors utilizing CRM (Salesforce), requiring meticulous data entry and creative thinking for developing reports and improving processes for managing data.  
  • Oversee fidelity of process automation in Pardot/Salesforce (e.g. settings that automatically assign gift officers to prospects based on pre-determined criteria) 
  • Pull and maintain lists to inform donor email blasts, monthly newsletter, webinar invitations, and other communications 
  • Conduct research and prospect leads to create entry into and expand our reach into donor networks. 
  • Schedule and organize meetings/contacts with prospects/donors in partnership with development team.  Help to prepare briefing materials with staff  for meetings/contacts with donors. 
  • Manage and track timelines and reporting requirements, working with program staff and development team to compose and submit timely reports to individual donors and advisors. 
  • Help to maintain relationships with donor aggregator partners, including tracking reporting requirements and working with the team to engage in joint marketing efforts or events. 
  • In partnership with development team, work with the communications team, program staff, and marketing consultants to develop various forms of fundraising collateral and templates for donor communications. 
  • Help manage donor-focused communications and outreach campaigns via website postings, CATF newsletter, and other means. 
  • Travel as required (overnight, domestic, possibly international). 

 Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree or comparable work/life experience 
  • 2-3 years of experience supporting non-profit development fundraising program  
  • 1-2 years of experience working in databases and CRMs (Salesforce a plus) 
  • Experience with fundraising campaigns and events 
  • Experience with Classy, Pardot, iWave, WordPress and/or other fundraising management, email marketing, donor research and website management tools a plus 
  • Experience with non-profit advocacy and public policy fundraising (environmental groups a plus) 
  • A background in communications, marketing, public policy, science/technology, environmental science, and/or experience with climate change issues, whether through education or previous work experiences a plus

  • Requires proficiency in the use of Office 365/Microsoft suite of applications, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and online document sharing and calendaring.
