Bike Education Instructors play a key role in getting more people on bikes in Metro Vancouver by teaching engaging educational courses that reach thousands of youth and adults annually. Our courses include both in-class and on-bike instruction that allow participants to build the skills and confidence needed for safe and enjoyable urban cycling. Position Summary:
We are hiring several full-time and part-time Instructors to join our growing Bike Education team. Under the direction of the Instructor Manager, Bike Education Instructors work on a seasonal basis and teach a variety of courses. Instructors primarily work Bike to School programs, which are delivered in elementary and middle schools and take place during school hours. Occasional engagement with community StreetWise programs outside of these hours may also be involved. This position entails frequent travel around the region and can be fairly physical, requiring enthusiasm and high levels of energy.

Terms: This is a seasonal position. The number of shifts vary from week to week depending on Instructor availability and programming needs. Instructors must be willing to travel within Metro Vancouver to instruct courses (owning a vehicle is not required), and can expect some early morning start times for travel to program locations. Successful candidates may continue on to teach in the spring (April through June) and successive seasons. Upfront fees for Standard First Aid and Advance Your Ride certification courses are the responsibility of participants, although conditional reimbursement is available for the latter.
Start date: Paid training for new Instructors will likely take place Sep. 7 & 8, and course instruction will begin Sep. 19.
