A Global Movement of Social Change Innovators

Catalyst 2030 comprises of social enterprises, intermediaries, funders and other social change innovators, collaborating in this urgent moment to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). And why…

We live in a unique era of human progress. Extreme poverty, malnutrition, violence, and infectious disease have plummeted, while life expectancy, literacy rates, and electricity access have soared. Yet, severe inequalities in income, health, education, and representation disadvantage billions around the world. Meanwhile, humanity’s growing ecological footprint is threatening many of the natural systems we all depend on—such as climate, oceans, land, biodiversity, and fresh water— which are nearing irreversible tipping points. These crises often intersect, creating conditions ripe for instability and conflict.

We may be the last generation alive that can act to reverse these trends. Catalyst 2030 believes that collective action and bold, new strategies are needed to address the crises of our time. Joining forces with communities, governments, businesses, and others, Catalyst 2030 members are working toward changing systems at all levels. Cumulatively, members have already impacted the lives of millions, often with limited resources. Together, we envision the realisation of the SDGs for all.

Following our incubation period, we consulted with our global membership and shaped our ambitious plans based on their feedback. At the heart of the feedback was the desire for Catalyst 2030 to shift the barriers presented by an outdated and flawed financing system; one which fails to allocate resources to systems change initiatives and to those best placed to achieve the SDGs - social innovators. A strategic imperative for the movement is to create an enabling environment that will shift these current challenges to increase capital flows to the work of social innovators.

The Catalyst 2030 movement of more than 1,700 social innovators, adopts a collaborative systems change approach. An approach to transparently mobilise a diverse set of actors in order to collectively imagine and create positive, systemic change.

About the Role

This important role is a great mix of Executive Assistant and Policy and Communications Officer. In this role you will be working closely with the Chief Facilitator of Catalyst 2030, not only assisting her in scheduling and managing appointments, but you will also take on the task of writing up emergent policy and strategic concept notes. You are a team player, ready to work across our secretariat departments, seamlessly engage with our membership and external stakeholders. With an ever growing network of social innovators, academics, governments and funders there are many opportunities to grow and develop at innovative learning sessions throughout the year, on everything from systems change, to spotlights on experts at the monthly donor learning group.

You'll have weekly check-ins with the Chief Facilitator and regular feedback on your performance. We hold appraisals every six months, and set aside time to discuss your aspirations and career goals.
