    Position

    EII is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team. The Project Manager will be pivotal in overseeing and coordinating projects across Brazil, Colombia and Peru, working closely with local teams, administration, and partners to ensure successful implementation and alignment with organizational goals. The Project Manager will also support the development of new projects, including grant prospecting and grant proposal development. The Project Manager regularly accesses highly confidential and sensitive information and interacts with a diverse group of individuals. Thoughtful, independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize tasks.

    Responsibilities

    End-to-End Project Management

    • Manage a portfolio of climate-smart and forest-friendly development projects in tropical forest regions, primarily in the Amazon;
    • Oversee project schedules, resources, and budgets to ensure timely and financially sound project completion;
    • Collaborate with global and regional teams and partners to ensure effective project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation;
    • Coordinate and submit timely, accurate project reports to funders;
    • Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and risks, making necessary adjustments to meet evolving needs;
    • Report regularly on project status to senior management and other stakeholders;
    • Organize, maintain, and document project activities and outcomes, contributing to best practices for future initiatives.

    Prospective Grant Research and Analysis

    • Conduct research to identify potential funding sources, including individuals, foundations, and governments;
    • Maintain a calendar of funding submission deadlines;
    • Work with senior management and regional leaders to understand funding needs and identify gaps;
    • Support regional managers with research and guidance on region-specific funding opportunities.

    Proposal Writing

    • Develop and manage compelling funding proposals, including coordinating staff and partner contributions, collaborative editing, and budget development;
    • Assist in the submission of proposals.

    Other

    • Contribute to programmatic communications and institutional messaging as needed;
    • Provide guidance and support to project staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment;
    • Support and coordinate file and data management across projects and relevant institutional activities.

    Qualifications and experience:

    • Master's degree or equivalent experience in environmental management, rural development, sustainable development, conservation, or a related field;
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management, preferably in the non-profit or international development sector;
    • Excellent proficiency in English and either Spanish, Portuguese, or both (written and verbal).
    • Experience living and working in South America;
    • Strong organizational and communication skills, detail-oriented, and flexible, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, anticipate needs, and adapt to changing priorities;
    • Proven experience in coordinating events (workshops, meetings, etc.);
    • Competence in analysis and writing required for project management and reporting;
    • Strong personal qualities, including integrity, credibility, dedication, motivation, and a commitment to excellence and results;
    • Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a multicultural environment;
    • Strong computer skills, specifically proficiency with Microsoft Suite and cloud-based systems like Google Workspace;
    • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills;
    • Willingness and availability to travel internationally for project support and collaboration;
    • Belief in the mission of Earth Innovation Institute.
