Position Overview: 

The Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County (HLC) is looking for candidates to fill the role of Operations Manager. This position also provides some administrative support to HEART (an affordable housing finance non-profit organization).  The ideal individual is service-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills. This position would be a great fit for someone who is seeking dynamic responsibilities, ranging from fiscal management to event support. This position will give you the opportunity to learn the operations of a nonprofit organization and become a key administrator/operator member in affordable housing advocacy. We are a diverse group of individuals of varying backgrounds brought together by our passion for a more equitable San Mateo County through housing.

This job will begin as soon as possible. The position is full-time, non-exempt, and is 75% remote. This is an hourly position, paying $30.00-$35.00 per hour, DOE.

Key duties and responsibilities: 

• Serve as primary contact and manager for day-to-day operations, including updating office-wide calendars, maintaining online files, and maintaining office equipment and inventory
• Manage accounting operations, with functional responsibility for general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
• Maintain Salsa Engage CRM database with accurate donor and transaction information
• Develop financial and management reporting for funders, foundations, Executive Director, and Board of Directors
• Schedule, manage logistics, and prepare meeting materials for organizational Board and Finance Committee meeting
• Assist Housing Endowment and Regional Trust of San Mateo County (HEART) with administrative tasks (e.g. support during board meetings with meeting organization and minutes, assisting with 700-form compliance, some research assistance as needed) 

Qualifications:

• Strong initiative, coordination, and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Aptitude for learning and understanding complex procedures (e.g. conducting literature reviews, maintaining internal systems, able to receive constructive feedback and apply improvements/demonstrate growth)
• Ability to work independently as well as with consultants, Board members, part-time employees who work remotely
• Intermediate level ability with G-Suite, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.  Strong language and editing abilities
• Professional experience in office operations, coordination and administration is a plus
• Knowledge of standard and nonprofit accounting principles, nonprofit finances, and public agency requirements is a plus

Status: Full-time, non-exempt

Reports to: Development Director 

Work Remotely: Mostly (approximately 75%)
