EMPath manages a learning network, the Economic Mobility Exchange (“Exchange”). The Exchange is comprised of over 100 organizations and government agencies from around the world interested in learning about and implementing EMPath’s Mobility Mentoring® approach and tools used to support low-income families and individuals in their goal to become economically self-sufficient. The AVP of Learning Platforms is a newly created role, responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of a new learning management system (LMS) to scale training and online interactions with members, managing the external train- the- trainer program, developing special training and technical assistance programs in response to member requests, designing and managing monthly webinars and ongoing external learning communities, and supervising staff.


·        Oversee and provide project management for the design, procurement, implementation and ongoing development of a learning management system (LMS);

·        Supervise staff in the technical development of LMS content and design; as well as ongoing system support and content evolution;

·        In partnership with Capacity Building Department project manage and contribute to the development of new training curriculum and evaluation and evolution of existing curriculum;

·        Project manage the development and implementation of train-the-trainer curriculum to support EMPath staff and member organizations in delivering  training; provide resources and debrief support to EMPath and member trainers;

·        Coordinate technical assistance and consultation for member organizations;

·        Identify topics, coordinate and prepare presenters, and facilitate monthly webinars;

·        Manage relationship with partner organization, Platform31 and the Netherlands Exchange.

·        Supervise the production of all member communications such as monthly newsletters and annual reports

·        In collaboration with EMPath colleagues, coordinate online / virtual learning communities;

·        Lead ongoing projects to share and disseminate research, learnings and resources amongst network members; 

·        Supervise administrative/operations staff member;

·        Project Manage Career Compass; including marketing to new audiences and evolving tool design and capabilities;

·        Co-facilitate internal and external EMPath training and presentations;

·        Other related research, supervisory, administrative, and development duties as necessary

·        Flexible, high degree of comfort with ambiguity, enthusiasm, and a good sense of humor essential

Educational and Other Requirements:

·        Masters degree in a relevant field required (IE. education, social work, human services, public health, sociology, psychology, public administration);

·        5-7 years experience with online learning platforms and adult learning;

·        5-7 years of experience managing projects and staff

·        Experience providing technical assistance and/or consultation to nonprofit organizations

·        Understanding of trauma-informed coaching models, motivational interviewing, EMPath’s Mobility Mentoring® model desirable;

·        Commitment to EMPath’s mission

·        Ability to travel, including out of state, approximately 10% of time
