Federal Defenders of New York (FDNY) is seeking applicants for a trial attorney position in our Brooklyn office to begin in November 2018. FDNY is a federal public defender office that provides legal representation to indigent persons accused of federal crimes in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Applicants must have a minimum of two years of legal experience, with a strong courtroom advocacy background, and a demonstrated ability to communicate with and fight for our client base. Applicants must be admitted to the bar of the State of New York and must be able to clear an FBI background check in order to work on sensitive national security matters.
