Schedule:                                           Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Summary

The Program Officer for CA ERAP Communications reports to the program’s CA State Lead, the Los Angeles office Executive Director and supports LISC’s administration of the California Emergency Rental Assistance Program. LISC was selected by the State of California to administer the State’s emergency rental assistance program (CA ERAP) to provide emergency rental assistance to, or for the benefit of, households impacted by COVID and health and safety restrictions. This is a temporary position with an immediate start date.   

The Program Officer for CA ERAP Communications is responsible for preparing consolidated communications materials and original content using dashboard reports and information provided by other LISC staff and project consultants; managing internal project communications including daily status updates in coordination with project management staff and consultants; coordinating communication functions for the public regarding application status, chat-bots, frequently asked questions; coordinating efforts with the State’s Communications and Education outreach firm; monitoring news media regarding program implementation and facilitating communications coordination among and between LISC’s internal teams working on the project. The ideal candidate will have strong communications skills, high attention to detail, multitask in a fast-paced environment.   

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with project consultants and LISC staff to collect and consolidate project information (including marketing and communications materials, project status, impact data, etc.)
  • Create communications content for external and internal audiences
  • Prepare high quality materials for meetings and informational requests
  • Facilitate communications coordination among and between LISC’s internal teams and consultants working on the project
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in communications; experience in a community development or social services context preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience preparing executive level communication materials
  • Experience interpreting and synthesizing data for multiple audiences
  • Advanced competency in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), online communications design tools (like Canva), Adobe Acrobat.
  • Function effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, complex, and changing environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven track record and demonstrated commitment to collaborative teamwork
